The Pattern Doesn’t Follow You. You Carry It.

The Pattern Doesn’t Follow You. You Carry It.

Not because life is testing you — but because something within you keeps repeating.

There’s a feeling that comes with every new beginning. This time it’s different. New situation. New person. New energy. You’ve learned from before. You’re more careful now. And you believe it. I remember starting a new business partnership. It was a different industry from the last one. A different person — someone who seemed to bring exactly what I needed. The conversations were good. The energy felt right. It made sense. At least, in the beginning. Then slowly, quietly… something started to feel familiar. Nothing obvious. Just a small friction. A moment where something felt slightly off. I noticed it. But I moved past it. Every partnership has friction. Give it time. This is different. It wasn’t. Not at the core. The details were new. The name was different. The context had changed. But the outcome — the friction, the misalignment, the way things slowly came apart — felt like something I had lived before. And this time, I couldn’t ignore it. Because I had chosen this person. In the same way I had chosen the last one. Not randomly. Not carelessly. But for the same reason. Someone who had what I didn’t — instead of someone who believed what I did. It looks like a small difference. But it isn’t. One is about filling a gap. The other is about building something shared. I kept choosing the first. Become a Medium member And calling it strategy. The situation had changed completely. Different people. Different years. Different circumstances. But something in the way I was deciding… hadn’t. That’s what I had carried. From one situation to the next. Without realizing it. This is why patterns are hard to see. They don’t come back looking the same. They come back wearing something new. So the mind treats each one as a separate event. Something to deal with. Not something to recognize. But underneath the new details, the structure stays the same. The same way of deciding. The same thing being sought. The same blind spot doing the choosing. Life keeps changing on the surface. Something underneath doesn’t. And that something keeps creating the same outcome. Not because life is testing you. Not because you’re unlucky. Not because the wrong people keep showing up. But because something within you keeps repeating. And it will keep repeating… until you see it. Not fix it. Not solve it. Just see it clearly. That’s where it begins. Not with a decision to change. But with a moment of honest recognition: This isn’t new. I’ve been here before. And I brought myself here. That moment is uncomfortable. But it’s also the first moment where something real becomes possible. Pushpender Kaushik Exploring patterns in business, behaviour, and life 🌐 lifeisnotrandom.com
